The wood-panelled Prince Christian Room is a historic private dining venue at the front of Cumberland Lodge. It hosted several important meetings in the lead-up to the abdication of King Edward VIII in December 1936.
This Windsor dining room is an elegant and timeless space that is steeped in rich history and culture. It is an ideal space for any event, from business conference lunches and informal dinners to special events and weddings. Our Prince Christian Windsor dining hall incorporates parts of nature with stunning views of the Great Park and ancient trees that enclose the Lodge, allowing you to have a beautiful backdrop to your dining experience and event.
The Prince Christian Room seats up to 40 people on its own. It can also be combined with our larger Cumberland Dining Room to create a single dining area, accommodating up to 100 people. Dining and refreshment packages
You can order bespoke and tailored dining and refreshment packages for your event to create an exceptional dining experience in our Prince Christian Dining Room.
Refreshments are available in a package for your event too, giving you a wide variety of drinks from alcoholic options to soft drinks and still or sparkling water throughout the event. Additional refreshments can be purchased on the day if needed and charged on consumption.
Delicious, outstanding and adaptable menu
Your meal can be tailored to the dietary requirements of your guests and the foods that you prefer. It can also be adapted into a buffet-style meal if this works better for your event, just let our staff know and we can tailor these packages to you. Previous menus from events have included meals such as:
- Canapes: Smoked salmon with horseradish and soda bread or hot Cumberland sausages in honey and wholegrain mustard.
- Three-course meal: Herb-glazed cod and smocked haddock risotto with lemon cream and tomato vinaigrette for starters, Saddle of Great Park venison with venison bon-bons and celeriac puree for main, and warm chocolate fondant with coconut sorbet and tropical fruit salsa for dessert.
- Buffet: Terrine of seafood with sour cream and dill, roasted peppers, plum tomatoes and basil, grilled chicken marinated in soy and honey, six freshly prepared salads, home-made flavoured breads, raspberry and hazelnut meringues and baked blueberry cheesecake.
- Evening supper: Curry buffet, hot roast meat sandwich carvery, fish, chips and mushy peas, hot bacon and Cumberland sausage rolls and cheese and cured meat buffet.
For weddings, you can gain ideas and guidance from our Head Chef as the dining package includes a complimentary menu consultation to discuss your requirements. For other special events and business events, our staff can help guide your event and tailor the dining experience to your specific needs.
Evening guest package
We are one of the most accommodating private dining venues and we understand that all guests must be catered for. Many events, particularly weddings, have evening guests arriving later on.
