Basma is a Palestinian human rights activist. She has been active in humanitarian and development work with displaced people in the past 12 years through community outreach and mobilization, advocacy, protection from sexual and gender-based violence, and child protection.

Basma has presented in several international conferences around the world on refugees’ protection, migration, displacement, and gender equality. Basma received a full scholarship from the University of Kent in the U.K. to complete a PhD in migration studies focused on global south refugee-led responses in humanitarian action. She holds a master’s degree in development and emergency practice at Oxford Brookes University. She is dedicated and passionate about refugee protection, humanitarian action, advocacy, campaigning, and community outreach.
